A poor first half, with a last-second shot to get us to within 10 at 32-22. The coach rallied the team with a "keeper" of a pep talk: "You guys don't want to wait a year to get another win, do you?". And they came out firing on all cylinders. Alex played his best game of the year, drove the lane for a score once (pure instinct), then played the last 4+ minutes guarding their best player and shut him down totally (NO points). Final score: 60-46, and we finished the season 8-1-1, avenging our only loss this season against the team that beat us in the first game of the season. AWESOME ! Pizza party afterwards, awards, final comments, and smiles all around!
Tonight: no pizza (whew)...probably PB&J, or hot dogs, or maybe burgers somehwere.....and I think a trip to Baskin-Robbins is in the offing, too..... And tomorrow......we visit The Reptile Man !
Here's the Coach & one of the stars of his team....Alex Carlos!

that PBJ sounds good! Congrats to Alex and his team!
Good go Alex! Does Justin play sports? I love a good pb&j myself. Husband having fish filets and Me, leftover hod dogs. I don't cook very well at all. Well, not true some things, few thing I do cook well.
Yes, Justin also plays sports - soccer & LL baseball for now, wants to try football (flag, this fall season) and basketall (when he turns 8 later this year). He actually is far more athletically inclined than Alex, somewhat taking after his dad (he tends to lead with his face, no matter what the sport), while Alex is much more conservative.
as soon as I'm done with the ham in my fridge, it's pb&j's for my work lunches for a while. show me somebody who doesn't like a good pb&j and I'll show you somebody who is alergic to either: bread, pb or j!
WOW, speaking of leading with his face...I just flashed on how I caught a basketball with my face when I was young. that smarts for a while. but I certainly LEARNED from it. it hasn't happened since. maybe because I don't get within two courts of a bb. LOL =;c )
